Celebrate World Rainforest Day with Cape Byron Distillery’s Open Day
Cape Byron Distillery is swinging open the doors to the community to celebrate World Rainforest Day . Sip and celebrate this inaugural event on Saturday 24th of June 2023 at the distillery’s cellar door 80 St Helena rd Mcleoads Shoot.
The property has been lovingly regenerated with over 40,000 subtropical rainforest trees, this property is now a thriving ecosystem and home to numerous flora and fauna and is the inspiration for making Brookie’s Rainforest Gin and the environment for maturing Cape Byron Whisky.
The free event aims to raise funds and awareness for the Big Scrub Conservancy through epic raffles donated by a host of local businesses and donating funds from bottles and drink sales from the day.
Local musician Holly Tapp will be performing on the distillery’s balcony while you can sip a cocktail and take in the rainforest vista.
Self-guided rainforest tours will take you through the property and a pop up rainforest gin bar set up amongst the botanical garden, to taste the gin in its natural habitat.
To keep guests satiated, food trucks from Sam Burger & OMG Decadent Donuts will be available. And complimentary courtesy bus will be taking guests back to north Byron Hotel from 4:30pm.
Rainforests and sustainability are close to the distillery’s heart. They have partnered with World Rainforest Day (technically the 22nd June), whose mission is to recognise healthy forests as one of the most powerful and cost-effective climate change mitigation tools and creates a global movement to protect and restore them.
